Service Agreement before
you register for Online Counselling
We would like you to take a few
minutes to read the following service agreement. It sets out the responsibilities
of Suzanne Barr and of clients who register for online counselling.
In providing online counselling,
Suzanne Barr undertakes to:

Offer a safe, professional service
in accordance with code of ethics, values and standards of practice in personal
counselling

Respond to client requests for
service within 72 hours, and to discuss with clients during their initial
contact details of how online counselling will proceed

Provide services on the basis of
the information given by online clients

Provide professional service with
support and follow-up

Suzanne Barr will not take
responsibility for failing to act where the client has provided incomplete
information on the registration form, or withheld information which might
lead to inaccurate assessment of their situation.
Maintain privacy of information
and confidentiality.
The exceptions to this are where there are issues of violence and abuse towards
children, or where there is a serious risk of self-harm or danger to others.
All session data and client details will be deleted once the purpose for
which they were gathered is fulfilled, usually on completion of counselling.
Those receiving online services
from Suzanne Barr undertake to:
Be committed to working on the issues they present to the counsellor
Provide full information to the counsellor to enable accurate assessment,
and honest, open dialogue
Acknowledge the professional and technological limitations of online counselling
Consider the risk of third-party intervention of counselling emails
Respect the rules of online conduct which do not allow posting of abusive,
obscene or indecent material or images.
