Terms & Conditions

Thank you for using my services. My aim is to provide you with a professional and caring counselling or coaching service. As part of providing a counselling service to you I will need to collect and record personal information from you that is relevant to your current situation. This information will be a necessary part of the service.

You may view and have a copy of the material recorded in your file upon request, subject to the exceptions in National Privacy Principle 6.

CONFIDENTIALITY GUARANTEED This service guarantees confidentiality of all sessions, unless written permission is given by you to (a) discuss information with another professional or family member, or (b) provide a written report to another professional or agency. However, confidentiality may be overridden in circumstances where there is a current or prospective serious risk of injury, either physical or emotional, to any person including yourself, or if a court issues a subpoena. All information you provide on an Intake Questionnaire and the Evaluation Form if completed are also confidential.

KEEPING APPOINTMENTS It is important to give at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep an appointment so that another client may be able to use that time period. If you do not give 24 hours notice or do not attend for a counselling session, this session will incur a $70 cancellation fee. Or this session will be forfeited if it has been paid in advance.

How long do sessions last?
Sessions are one hour. In the first appointments, sessions may run to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Who should attend?
If it’s a couple issue, then I see the couple. I normally see parents before I see their children. I see families, couples and individuals and who should attend depends on your circumstances. Feel free to discuss this with me when making your appointment.

How frequently will sessions be?
The first sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly. Subsequent sessions may be less frequent.

How many sessions will be required?

There are a group of clients who come to resolve a specific difficulty and attend between 3 and 7 sessions. For people who have a more longstanding or lifelong complexity, counselling may continue intermittently with a brief cluster of sessions at times of crisis or acute difficulty.

Payment
Payment may be made by cash or EFTPOS (VISA, MasterCard or direct bank debit). Unless prior arrangement has been made, all accounts are to be settled on the day. Please note that cancellations with less than 24 hours notice typically cannot be filled with such short notice and therefore will attract a charge of $70.
